Joe Rogan found himself in hot water for conducting a ‘podcast’ with Conor McGregor at UFC 264.
The former dual-weight UFC champion famously broke his leg during a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
Bizarrely, UFC commentator Joe Rogan decided to sit down on the floor and interview Conor McGregor during the most painful moment of his legendary MMA career.
Overcome with pain and the grief of another defeat, ‘Notorious’ directed a tirade of abuse at Poirier, making crude claims about his wife before aiming vile threats in the direction of the UFC 318 headliner.

Joe Rogan explains controversial Conor McGregor interview
McGregor faced intense backlash for stepping over the line with his trash talk after UFC 264.
However, the 36-year-old was quickly forgiven because he was injured and shouldn’t have had a microphone put in front of him at that moment.
Rogan’s decision to interview McGregor was slammed by SBG head coach John Kavanagh, fan favorite fighter Artem Lobov, and countless fans following the event in Las Vegas.
The world’s most famous podcaster later clarified why he decided to interview McGregor at UFC 264.
“People are like, ‘Why did you interview him?’ He actually brought me over,” he said on The Joe Rogan Experience, several days after the incident.
“He goes, ‘Come over here, lad, let’s have a podcast.’ He said, ‘Come on, Joe, let’s have a f—ing podcast.’
“He asked me to sit down next to him. I was like, ‘How am I going to do this? I feel like I should just get something out of him.’
“Even if you recognize the fact that he is emotionally charged up, this is just him expressing himself while he was emotionally charged up.”
Will Conor McGregor ever fight again?
It’s been four years, and McGregor still hasn’t returned from his spell on the sidelines.
The Irishman’s leg is fully healed, and there’s nothing physically stopping him from making a comeback.
However, it seems unlikely that he will return to MMA in 2025, despite previously promising he would.
McGregor recently breathed new life into his fighting career when US President Donald Trump made a bombshell announcement about hosting a UFC event at the White House in 2026.
MMA’s greatest legend said ‘Count me in’ when news of the unique UFC show broke on social media.
McGregor subsequently leaked a message from Dana White, who wants him on the White House card.
Only time will tell if McGregor will make his long-awaited fighting comeback at Trump’s official residence.
