Conor McGregor and Mike Perry share fiery face-off in Florida as pair finally meet after ‘firing’

Conor McGregor and Mike Perry finally got to have words in person for the first time since the UFC legend ‘fired’ BKFC’s biggest star.

After Perry was knocked out by Jake Paul in a boxing match last summer, McGregor unceremoniously sacked his ‘King of Violence’. The validity of this claim, made during a patented late night ‘tweet and delete’ spree, has often been questioned.

Sure enough, when it came to bringing the BKFC’s champions together for a summit in Florida on Thursday evening, a key spot was prepared for Perry. And it was almost too close to McGregor, who noted that Perry will be coming back on October 11 for his long-awaited fighting return.

Conor McGregor and Mike Perry share frosty first encounter since ‘firing’ controversy

On Thursday night in Hollywood, Florida, Conor McGregor headed up a massive press conference full of the BKFC’s champions and big names. He announced new signings and a massive $25million openweight tournament, but that might have been the least newsworthy moment of the event.

One exciting inevitability that became clear from the way the seating was set up was the first meeting between McGregor and Mike Perry since last year’s ‘firing’ debacle. It’s been almost a year since that incident, and the Irishman has softened his tone in recent months.

But there appeared to be no love lost as Perry was asked about the firing, to which he called the Irishman out for a potential fight in the squared circle. “I think it makes a lot of sense because we haven’t seen Conor in the ring in a while,” he began.

“But I know he loves bare knuckle and I’d love to face off against him any time. Any time we’re looking for the action.”

McGregor was fiery in his response, getting right in Perry’s face and declaring: “You’re welcome back because I welcomed you back. October 11 is your date and you’ll dance for me, boy. You’ll dance for the owner.”

However, he didn’t rule out the prospect of a potential fight, presuming he can ever get through the final two fights on his UFC deal. “Then we can talk,” McGregor quickly noted. “But your date is October 11, Michael Perry ‘the return of platinum’.

“And we’ve got one hell of an announcement of an opponent for you. One of the baddest men to ever grace the Ultimate Fighting Championship when it comes to bare knuckle, and he’s going to throw down with you in front of me for my viewing pleasure. And then I’ll decide if you’re worthy.”
