Jon Jones’ manager confirms bombshell announcement that could lead to his UFC return shortly following retirement

Jon Jones recently revealed a shocking U-turn on his UFC retirement.

Some of the sport’s biggest stars have already expressed their interest in featuring on the UFC event that will be held at the White House following an announcement from President Donald Trump.

Conor McGregor has spoken about making his UFC return on July 4 of 2026 but ‘The Notorious’ isn’t the only one who wants in.

Fans immediately questioned whether we may finally see Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall take place on this date due to the sheer magnitude of the event.

After posting about fighting at the White House, ‘Bones’ provided a shocking update just two weeks after announcing his retirement from the sport.

Jon Jones’ manager shares his post about re-entering the UFC’s testing pool for a potential return

Jon Jones’ retirement may end up being short-lived after he revealed a major career update via social media.

In a post on X, Jones claimed that he has re-entered the UFC’s testing pool which would allow him to step back inside the Octagon in the near future.

While ‘Bones’ didn’t officially state that he will be making his return, the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion did write that he’s keeping his options open.

Jones’ retirement was initially confirmed by Dana White during the post-fight press conference at UFC Baku before the consensus greatest of all time shared his thoughts on the end of his career.

However, his decision to re-enter the testing pool has now seemingly been confirmed by his long-time manager at First Round Management.

Malki Kawa posted Jones’ statement on Instagram, writing alongside a smirking emoji, “Happy Fourth”.

Jones shared Kawa’s post on his own Instagram story, which came accompanied by the Thin Lizzy song, ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’.

Jon Jones deleted a post that disputed Dana White’s claim about his fight with Tom Aspinall

Following Jon Jones’ official retirement, Tom Aspinall was promoted to the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion.

UFC CEO Dana White stated that a fight between Jones and Aspinall was done until ‘Bones’ changed his mind.

In a post that was quickly deleted from his X account, the former champion disputed these claims and stated that while there were negotiations, “it was never done.”

Jones vs Aspinall is clearly the fight that the fans still want to see even after everything that has happened over the past few months, though Jones didn’t make any reference to the Brit in his recent update.
