Dana White is on board with Conor McGregor’s offer to return to the octagon on the White House lawn next year.
The UFC boss has tended to stay quiet on a potential comeback for McGregor, who hasn’t fought in over four years. He was due to return last summer against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but was forced out with a broken toe.
Now, the Irishman appears keen to be a part of the planned UFC event set to take place on the White House lawn next year for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration. Donald Trump announced the groundbreaking event last night, with plans in place for a massive world championship showcase.

Dana White reacts to Conor McGregor’s comeback offer
Following the announcement from President Trump, a number of high-profile fighters have thrown their hat into the ring to get on the massive card. And no name has a higher profile than Conor McGregor, who immediately voiced his intentions to compete.
“Happy 4th of July, USA,” he wrote on X, before sharing a photo he took with the President this year. “Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House. I would be honoured! Count me in!”
McGregor then shared a screenshot of a private DM conversation with UFC boss Dana White. He appears to have sent two voice notes, to which the executive simply replied “I love it,” in all capital letters.
Donald Trump confirms plans for UFC event at the White House
McGregor’s effort to get involved shows just how big this event is expected to be for the UFC. It will be one of their first major events on their new broadcast deal, and is yet another a massive move forward for MMA’s involvement in mainstream sport.
“We’re going to have a UFC fight,” Trump said during a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Thursday. “Think of this on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there. We’re gonna build a little, we’re not, Dana’s gonna do it… Dana is great.
“One of a kind. We’re going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like, 25,000 people. We’re going to do that as part of 250 also. We’re going to have some incredible events, some professional events, some amateur events, but the UFC fight’s gonna be a big deal.”
