Fighter who was attacked by Sean Strickland during viral Tuff-N-Uff brawl explains his side of story

Sean Strickland continues to make the headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has been out of action since his unsuccessful title rematch against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312 earlier this year.

Since then, he has been called out by the likes of Israel Adesanya as he takes some time out of fighting, calculating his next move.

However, this past Sunday he once again made the headlines for the wrong reasons during a local Tuff-N-Uff show in Las Vegas.

Sean Strickland involved in wild post-fight brawl

Strickland’s teammate Miles Hunsinger took on Luis Hernandez on the undercard of Tuff-N-Uff 145 in a middleweight fight.

The first round between the two fighters provided back and forth action, however, it was in round two when chaos began to ensue as Hernandez had several mid-fight conversations with Hunsinger’s corner, including Strickland and fellow UFC fighter, Chris Curtis.

Just a minute into the round, Hernandez caught Hunsinger in a standing guillotine, finishing the fight. During his celebration, Hernandez motioned towards Strickland and Curtis with an x-rated gesture.

Quickly after, the two UFC middleweights stormed into the cage to confront Hernandez. Strickland steamed towards him and landed a few punches on him before being dragged away.

Shortly after, Strickland broke his silence on social media, claiming that Hernandez was calling him names and provoking a fight.

Although the former UFC middleweight champion explained his side of the brawl, a few hours removed from the altercation, Hernandez gave his side of the story.

“Well, f— man, we were in the fight and they were talking in the fight and there’s only so much we can take, this is entertainment, right, so he said some things and I said some things back and I guess he didn’t like what I said back,” Hernandez told Ariel Helwani.

“He was talking s— saying I was tired, making fun out of me, I think he called me fat and I don’t take that lightly. Me, I said, ‘F— you Sean Strickland’ and then he punched me. He did but I’m still standing and still smiling… Hopefully I’ll be in the UFC soon,” Hernandez continued.

It is unclear whether Strickland will be punished for his actions, however, there is a chance that he will receive a ban from the NSAC for cornering again.
