Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has issued his first statement after his disappointing loss to Jake Paul on Saturday night.
This past Saturday, Jake Paul returned to the boxing ring for the first time since his controversial win over Mike Tyson last November, taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Anaheim, California.
Once again ‘The Problem Child’ had the fans booing after he dominantly beat the former WBC middleweight champion via a unanimous decision, taking one step closer to his final goal of becoming world champion.
Following the fight, Paul sent an explicit message to his ‘haters’ after his clash against Chavez Jr set the new Honda Center gate record, once again hitting a milestone in his controversial career.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr breaks his silence with controversial statement
Chavez Jr’s performance was slammed by Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul, who claimed the Mexican didn’t want to fight and it resulted in an ‘annoying fight for the fans’.
Throughout his short tenure as a professional boxer, Paul has continuously faced criticism for hand-picking opponents, and has even had to shut down claims of rigging fights multiple times throughout his career.
However, in his first statement just hours removed from his loss, Chavez Jr has caused controversy by claiming he ‘could never’ knock ‘The Problem Child’ out.
“I could never knock him out. I couldn’t knock out Jake Paul,” Chavez Jr began to explain in a video on his Instagram story.
“Whoever the judges want, wins. I put on a great show and well, I hit him in the ass like I said I was going to. He said he was gonna drive me crazy, no, no. Here I am ready for what’s next, thank you everyone,” he continued.
It is unclear whether Chavez Jr is suggesting that he wasn’t allowed to knock Paul out, or whether he himself is critical of his own performance, however with fans continuing to claim Paul rigs his fights, Chavez Jr’s statement comes across as very damning.
Jake Paul faces off with world champion after win
Ahead of the fight, the 28-year-old admitted that his final goal in the sport of boxing is to become a world champion, with Chavez Jr being the first obstacle.
And with that, following his win ‘The Problem Child’ faced off with Zurdo Ramirez, who currently holds the WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles, successfully defending them in the co-main event.
If Paul isn’t granted a fight against Ramirez, despite earning himself a spot in the top 15 with his win, he has also named several other champions that he is willing to face next.
