It was another difficult night for the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez, as his son could not halt the boxing charge of Jake Paul.
After Paul’s win over Mike Tyson on Netflix last November, the polarizing YouTuber-turned-boxer returned to DAZN pay-per-view for his 13th professional outing.
Going head-to-head with the UFC 317 PPV, ‘The Problem Child’ faced yet another ageing and past-his-prime combat sports veteran in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
The Mexican former WBC middleweight champion has been accused of not preparing adequately throughout his career and showing a lackadaisical attitude toward his fights.
It is safe to say that those claims won’t be going anywhere in the aftermath of his latest bout against Paul.

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr was once again left disappointed ringside as Jake Paul dominates his son
In the main event at Anaheim’s Honda Center on June 28, Chavez Jr fell to his fourth loss in his last seven fights — and this one was not even close.
Paul dominated Chavez Jr from the jump, with the gun-shy Mexican remaining on his back foot as ‘The Problem Child’ comfortably outpointed him.
A late rally from the 39-year-old was not enough to set up a finish and save Chavez Jr from the humiliation of 99-91, 98-92, and 97-93 scorecards in the ex-Disney star’s favor.
Watching from ringside was Chavez Jr’s legendary father. It was a familiar story for the 62-year-old, who was shown on the broadcast cutting a frustrated and bewildered figure.

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr urged his son to retire years before fighting Jake Paul
Chavez Jr endured a similar humiliating result in 2021, when UFC legend Anderson Silva made his return to the boxing ring.
After being upset in shocking fashion by ‘The Spider,’ the Mexican had his father pitching retirement.
“I prefer that they retire if they are not going to prepare correctly,” Chavez Sr said.
“They do not prepare in the best way possible to fight.”
Having seen his son fall to a much more lopsided defeat against the even less experienced Paul, it stands to reason that Chavez Sr could be set to repeat those calls in the aftermath of his son’s latest embarrassing result.
