Jean Silva asked Dana White to be the best man at his wedding following his career-best win over Bryce Mitchell back in April, and it seems he has accepted the offer.
Silva and his fiancee have been avoiding getting officially married while he builds up his star power and earning potential to the point where they can hire Brazilian star Belo. The singer is one of the country’s biggest musicians, and would command a hefty fee to sing at a private function.
However, Silva tells Bloody Elbow that White has agreed to not only fund his appearance, but the entire wedding ceremony. As a result, the top ten featherweight claims, the UFC boss will act as his best man on the day.

Jean Silva says Dana White will fund lavish wedding and Belo appearance
Following his win over Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314 in Miami, Jean Silva called on Dana White to step in as his best man, in exchange for getting the singer Belo to perform at the ceremony. Silva now says that his boss has agreed, and then some.
Speaking with Bloody Elbow at UFC X on Friday via a translator, Silva explained: “Not only is Dana going to be my best man, but he’s going to pay for the wedding, he’s going to bring Belo and the wedding is going to be right here in Las Vegas.”

On the night back in April, White seemed confused by what Silva was asking, before making a vague acceptance that he would ‘probably’ do it. But now the UFC star claims it is definitely happening, with the mega-rich MMA supremo involved.
“Yeah, Dana knows it all,” Silva responded when asked if his boss was aware he had made such a deal. “In fact, a lot of it was actually his idea. After all, it’s a little hard for him to come to Brazil.”
Jean Silva has spoken to Belo about performing at his wedding
After that fateful press conference, Silva has had the chance to attend a Belo concert where he and his fiancee sang with him and discussed the possibility of him performing at the wedding. And it seems he won’t even need a discount now that White is paying for the whole affair.
“No need for a deal,” Silva joked. “There’s no need to have a discount for the boss. We spoke to Belo, we’ve actually been to one of his concerts where he spoke to us and everything is all set. It’s all happening and it’s going to be right here at the UFC actually.
Silva is currently preparing for a major headliner at UFC Noche against Diego Lopes on September 13 in Texas. And after that, he plans to finally marry his long-time fiancee Carol, with whom he has already signed the marriage papers but has yet to share a legitimate wedding.
