A fan attending Friday’s weigh-ins ended up taking a punch from one of the bantamweight division’s most exciting talents.
UFC 317 is just a few hours away where, amongst other fights, Ilia Topuria will face Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title.
While Topuria and his team may have already celebrated their victory, no one has stepped foot inside the Octagon as of yet, but that didn’t stop one fighter from letting his hands go early.
International Fight Week has brought a lot of the top names on the roster to Las Vegas for fan events and the UFC Hall of Fame.
Alexander Volkanovski’s stare down with Jean Silva wasn’t the only exchange that happened as a result of UFC stars all converging in the fight capital of the world.
Raul Rosas Jr. laughs with a fan after accidentally punching him in the side of the head
UFC bantamweight star Raul Rosas Jr. is in attendance for UFC 317 fight week where the 20-year-old prospect appears to have received a great reaction from the fans.
‘El Niño Problema’ has won four in a row since suffering the first defeat of his career, beating Vince Morales in March to set himself up for a huge fight next time out having continued his momentum into 2025.
However, Morales isn’t the only opponent to have been struck by Rosas Jr. this year after a video was posted on social media.
The surging contender was surrounded by fans and cameras during the UFC 317 weigh-ins where he started to get fired up while demonstrating his hand speed.
Rosas Jr. then fired off a short left hook which accidentally connected with a fan that was standing next to him, knocking his glasses off his head.
Fans on social media reacted in several ways as they joked about both Rosas Jr.’s and the fan’s response to what just happened.
‘Naw he just laughed at the fan.’
‘Bro almost caught a lawsuit in 4k.’
‘Good thing he’s not known for his power.’
‘I would sue and just settle that he’s never to say “chee wee wee” publicly again.’
‘Clear lawsuit.’
‘No effect! lol.’
Raul Rosas Jr. believes he’s 3 fights away from a title shot
With a return at Noche UFC in his sights, Raul Rosas Jr. has hinted that he’s got a big fight coming up against a top 15 opponent.
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, he suggested that he’s three fights away from earning a shot at the bantamweight title.
“I don’t think I’m too far away, especially if this fight that I’ve told you about goes through and I’m able to go out there and beat the guy. That’s like two more fights inside the top 15 and I feel like that would earn me a title shot… I’m looking at it as four fights just in case but for sure, I would love three.”
If everything falls into place for Rosas Jr. how he hopes it will, he could be on track to challenge Jon Jones’ record as the youngest UFC champion of all time.
