Joe Rogan thinks Jon Jones made an error before retiring from MMA.
The UFC commentator was one of the many fight fans hoping to see ‘Bones’ face Tom Aspinall in a unification fight later this year.
Jon Jones has spent months distancing himself from a scrap with the new undisputed heavyweight king.
Last weekend, the greatest fighter of all time shut the bout down for good by announcing his retirement.

Joe Rogan highlights Jon Jones’ mistake
Jones used every excuse in the book to avoid Aspinall before 195,000 fans signed a petition calling for him to be stripped of his UFC heavyweight title.
The UFC Hall of Famer repeatedly suggested Aspinall is not a big enough star to fight him.
Jones wanted to fight Francis Ngannou or Alex Pereira instead, but the UFC insisted on the Englishman.
Joe Rogan thinks Jones seriously underestimated Aspinall’s star power before retiring from MMA.
“It’s also money fights,” he said during a discussion about Jones with Cory Sandhagen on his podcast.
“I think he’s wrong because I think Aspinall is a star. I really do.
“And I think he’s saying, ‘Who is he? He’s no one.’ Aspinall is a star.
“When people ask me questions all the time, like casuals on the streets, it’s, ‘Is Jon Jones going to fight Tom Aspinall?’
“That’s like the constant question.”
Tom Aspinall won’t rule out Jon Jones fight
Aspinall won’t rule out a Jones fight because he expects the UFC icon to make a retirement U-turn.
“I’m in a spot in my career where there’s not all that much footage out there on me,” Aspinall said.
“Maybe he sees something on me in the next few fights, and he thinks, ‘You know what? I can beat this guy. I’m gonna come back and beat him’.
“Mentally, I’m never counting that out. The fight could always pop back up and come back around on me.”
