Conor McGregor’s relationship with Dana White remains strong four years after his last fight.
The former dual-weight UFC champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Since then, Conor McGregor has constantly talked up his return to the Octagon, but it hasn’t happened.
‘Notorious’ and Dana White still appear to be the best of friends, even though they haven’t always seen eye-to-eye during the Irishman’s lengthy spell on the sidelines

Conor McGregor sends wholesome message to Dana White
Talk about McGregor’s potential UFC comeback has gone quiet in the past few months.
White is focused on a foray into boxing, and his biggest-ever legend is enjoying some family time.
On Wednesday, McGregor and his children sent a message to the UFC boss during their latest holiday.
“What’s up, Uncle Dana?” McGregor’s young sons asked in a video shared on the MMA legend’s Instagram page.
McGregor added with a laugh: “Brother, we love you to bits.
“Go on, Dana. Go on, the Dana feller.
“The McGregors are only warming up.
“Up, Dana. Up the UFC. Let’s go, baby!”
McGregor shared the video on his Instagram story, tagging the UFC, White, and adding ‘#loyalty’.
White subsequently shared the wholesome footage with his 10.5 million Instagram followers.
Dana White’s latest Conor McGregor update
White kicked off 2025 by insisting it would be the year McGregor would finally fight again.
At the midway point, it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll return to the Octagon anytime soon.
Besides calling out Michael Chandler after his shock UFC 314 loss to Paddy Pimblett in April, McGregor has been uncharacteristically quiet about his highly anticipated comeback.
In May, White suggested that’s because it’s not something that is on the cards right now.
“He’s not fighting anytime soon,” the MMA mogul said when asked about McGregor’s next fight.
White added: “I haven’t talked to him in a minute, but yeah, I don’t know.”
