Jake Paul leans on backing from Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson in a message to his doubters

Throughout his short career as a professional boxer, Jake Paul has continuously silenced doubters by scoring some huge wins and breaking some big milestones.

This coming Saturday, Jake Paul returns to the boxing ring for the first time since his controversial win over Mike Tyson last November, as he is scheduled to take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Ahead of their clash, Paul has made an honest admission about where the former WBC Middleweight champion ranks amongst his former opponents, claiming he will be his toughest opponent to date.

Having provided some viral moments so far in his career, as well as breaking viewership records, ‘The Problem Child’ has revealed that the only goal he has left in the sport is to become a world champion.

Jake Paul leans on backing from Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson and others in message to doubters

Throughout his short tenure as a professional boxer, the 28-year-old has continuously had doubters attempting to diminish his achievements.

And with that, it has led to him being involved in several feuds with some of the biggest names in combat sports. Paul once offered UFC star Paddy Pimblett $1m to spar him after Pimblett claimed he was ‘fixing’ fights.

Despite breaking several milestones in the sport, fans continue to doubt and put down ‘The Problem Child’ for not fighting active boxers near his age and for changing the current landscape of boxing.

However, in a recent interview with DAZN Boxing, Paul has leaned on backing from the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson and others with a message to his doubters.

“I don’t really care (about the doubters), I’ve seen who they cheer for so I don’t care who they criticize. And meanwhile they’re hyping up these fights where the fighters are throwing six punches a round and it’s the most boring fights we’ve seen this year.

“I understand why people want to safeguard their sport, protect it, criticize me and pull me down, all of these things, but they don’t know who I am, they don’t know how serious I take the sport.

“The real ones like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Manny Pacquiao, even Floyd Mayweather, all of these people are the ones who give me the respect and see what I’ve done for the sport and that’s what really matters. Not the reporter or the boxing critics who are of course going to talk s— about me.”

Jake Paul made an astonishing amount of money despite first pro loss

The only time ‘The Problem Child’ has fought an active professional boxer near his age was when he fought Tommy Fury in 2023.

Despite having moments of success in the fight and even dropping Fury in the final round, he went on to lose a split decision, suffering his first loss as a professional boxer.

Although he lost the fight, Paul claimed he made an astonishing $30 million from the fight, picking up one of his biggest paydays during his short tenure.
