Island Boys star Kodiyakredd is now 0-3 in his fighting career after losing to notorious influencer Charleston White in his latest ring outing.
Franky Venegas, the 23-year-old rapper, goes by ‘Kodiyakredd’ as one half of the ‘Island Boys’ with his brother FlyySoulja. He has been boxing on Adin Ross’ live-streamed monthly shows Brand Risk Promotions, losing his previous two bouts before last night’s event in Nashville.
And he continued his disastrous run in the ring last night as he struggled through two rounds with 48-year-old White before quitting. He would later claim to have been smoking in the lead-up to the fight which he says led to him ‘gassing out’.
Island Boys star Kodiyakredd quits in fight with Charleston White
On Sunday night, Adin Ross brought his Brand Risk Promotions show on the road for the first time to Nashville, Tennessee. He usually runs the shows from his Miami warehouse, but he was unable to get main event star Charleston White sanctioned in Florida due to his only having one working eye.
48-year-old White has been pushing for a fight for years, but finally managed to get in the ring on Sunday as he took on Kodiyakredd of the Island Boys duo. The rapper was 2-0 after losing a brother vs brother fight last month and previously being stopped in his debut as Dana White watched.
Things were looking positive for Kodiyakredd in the early stages as it appeared his youth and experience under the lights might carry him through a fight full of illegal moves and poor punching. But after hitting the floor in the second after a slip, he and White both slowed to a point of barely even moving.
Eventually, after a combination from the Island Boy, White landed the biggest shot of the fight which stunned his rival. After feeling that one punch Kodiyakredd opted to head to a corner and retreat, telling the referee that he was quitting halfway through the second round.
Charleston White vows to fight again despite health concerns
After the fight, White was held aloft by his team which included Milton Lacroix, the former coach of Shannon Briggs and Logan Paul. He also claimed that despite his health issues and age, he plans to fight again.
Asked how he was feeling after the fight, he replied: “Like a young n—– with a new body, yeah. I’m a m–, this is a contact sport and I ain’t with taking punches and giving punches, I call the police on motherf—ers who throw punches.”
When asked what he would say to haters who claimed he would never actually compete, he replied: “Sign up for the next fight.”
Kodiyakredd then explained his side of the disaster outing, saying: “It was a good fight, I feel like I hit too much nicotine, I smoked too much weed and I gassed out.”
