A former WWE superstar, who also competed in MMA, may have been tempted back to combat sports for one last dance.
BKFC 76 took place on June 21 at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas where several former UFC fighters were in action.
Jessica Eye recorded her first win since parting ways with the UFC in 2022 while the son of legendary boxer Tommy Morrison, Kenzie Morrison, also got off to a strong start in the promotion.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski wasn’t the only powerhouse in attendance on Saturday night after a familiar face appeared on the broadcast.
Though he didn’t compete at the event like Arlovski did, a major name in the pro wrestling world, who also has extensive experience in combat sports, did suggest that he could join the BKFC roster in the future.
Bobby Lashley teases potential combat sports return in BKFC having not fought since 2016
Bobby Lashley is best known for his two runs in WWE where he was a major star for the promotion, having previously held the WWE championship on two occasions.
Lashley’s WWE contract expired in August of 2024, with the 48-year-old going on to sign with AEW where he is currently one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
In between his two runs in WWE (with Lashley exiting in 2008 before returning in 2018) ‘The Dominator’ competed in MMA where he racked up a pro record of 15-2.
As a former college wrestler and US Army veteran, he competed for major promotions like Bellator and Strikeforce, with his final fight coming in October of 2016 where he extended his winning streak to eight.
During the BKFC 76 broadcast, Lashley was interviewed while in attendance for the event.
He suggested that, following some conversations with BKFC founder and president David Feldman, he could be open to stepping into the ring at some point in the future.
“Man, this is very exciting being here in Texas. It is fantastic. I mean, I talked to Dave Feldman a little bit and I think I might have one more left in the tank. Some of the familiar faces I see around here and some of the new guys, I like it.”
BKFC 76 sets up big heavyweight title fight between two former UFC opponents
At 46 years old, Andrei Arlovski appears to somehow still have more in the tank after his BKFC debut was a success.
The former UFC heavyweight champion stopped Josh Copeland via TKO in the fourth round after the doctor wouldn’t allow Copeland to continue due to extensive cuts on his face.
During his post-fight interview, Arlovski was joined in the ring by BKFC heavyweight champion Ben Rothwell to set up a big clash between them.
Arlovski and Rothwell have faced each other two times in MMA, once in the UFC and once in Affliction with Arlovski coming out on top on both occasions.
