Rumors began to circulate earlier this year that a former UFC star could be gearing up for a comeback.
Videos of Zabit Magomedsharipov in training got fans talking about whether the former featherweight contender could be making his way back to the Octagon.
The return was teased by his teammates with more footage showing Magomedsharipov working alongside Islam Makhachev last month.
For a long time, the 34-year-old has been considered to be one of the biggest ‘what-ifs’ in the entire sport after he stepped away from the Octagon during the prime of his career.
Magomedsharipov even turned down a UFC title shot to come back but his manager has now hinted that it may finally be the right time for a huge return.

Ali Abdelaziz gets fans excited by suggesting that we will see Zabit Magomedsharipov ‘soon’
Zabit Magomedsharipov walked away from the UFC in 2019 with plans to pursue a different career as a doctor.
Fight fans were devastated to see him go with many touting the dynamic Russian as a future featherweight champion.
With an undefeated 6-0 record inside the Octagon, Magomedsharipov was on the cusp of a title shot after beating Calvin Kattar in November of 2019 in his first main event spotlight.
Any sighting of the former contender being back in the gym has excited fans but perhaps the biggest sign that he could comeback after all these years has now been shared by his manager.
Ali Abdelaziz posted a short and vague but incredibly exciting message on social media which simply suggested that we will see Magomedsharipov soon.
As has been the case ever since his final fight in 2019, the mere mention of the former star’s name was all it took for fans to start getting carried away with the idea that he may have finally decided to make a comeback.
Fight fans have wanted to see Zabit Magomedsharipov return for good reason
Zabit Magomedsharipov hasn’t fought in six years and at 34 years old, even if he did return, who knows whether he’d still be able to compete at the highest level.
However, any fight fan who was there during his ascent up the featherweight division can remember just how exciting it was to watch him climb the ranks.
Magomedsharipov was an incredibly creative striker who mixed in his remarkable grappling skills to record three submission wins inside the Octagon.
