Demetrious Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time.
However, the former UFC flyweight (125lb) champion’s diminutive 5ft 3in stature means many people think he might struggle if matched up against much bigger men, even if they don’t have much experience in fighting.
Eddie Hall showed just how useful sheer size can be when the 350lb behemoth ragdolled 28-fight veteran Mariusz Pudzianowski to win his MMA debut in 30 seconds in April.
The fight got Demetrious Johnson thinking about how he’d do against 2017’s ‘World’s Strongest Man’.

Tom Aspinall predicts Demetrious Johnson vs Eddie Hall
Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall helped Eddie Hall prepare for his MMA debut.
Footage of the English duo sparring together went viral before ‘The Beast’ fought at KSW 105.
So, no one is better placed than Aspinall to predict a potential fight between Johnson and Hall.
A producer asked: “How many ‘Mighty Mouses’ would it take to beat Eddie Hall?”
“In all honesty, if you had an MMA fight, I think you’d beat him,” Aspinall replied, stunning Johnson.
“No, dude, he’s f—ing big,” the flyweight legend insisted.
Aspinall added: “Yeah, but in an MMA fight…
“I don’t know. It’s difficult to say, the size is a thing. But if you’ve got like a big UFC Octagon.”
What’s next for Eddie Hall?
Eddie Hall began talking up his next fight as soon as the first one ended.
The 37-year-old is contractually obligated to rematch Pudzianowski, but it’s currently unclear if that fight will happen due to the embarrassingly one-sided nature of their first fight.
Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, and Francis Ngannou are just some of the big names that have been mentioned as potential opponents by Hall.
Whoever he ends up facing, fans can expect to see Hall back in the cage before the end of 2025.
