Michael Bisping returns from movie set to replace fellow legend on commentary team at UFC Baku

Michael Bisping is set to return to his UFC commentary role on Saturday night.

A light heavyweight bout between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. will headline at UFC Baku this weekend.

The UFC’s first event in Azerbaijan will also see Ignacio Bahamondes face an acid test against Rafael Fiziev in the co-main event.

With the fights set, the broadcast team, including Michael Bisping, has now been revealed.

UFC Baku commentary trio confirmed

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz worked in the commentary booth alongside retired lightweight veteran Paul Felder and play-by-play man Brandon Fitzgerald at UFC Atlanta last weekend.

Felder and Fitzgerald will be on the call for Hill vs Rountree Jr., but Bisping has replaced Cruz.

The former UFC middleweight champion has recently been filming scenes for a new movie called ‘The Gambit’, which explains why he’s been watching from the sidelines during the last few big MMA events.

Who else is working at UFC Baku?

Away from cageside, veteran broadcaster Karyn Bryant serves as desk anchor and host at UFC Baku.

Retired welterweight Alan Jouban will join her at the desk as an analyst throughout the broadcast.

UFC commentator John Gooden will conduct interviews backstage with the athletes on the card.

Finally, legendary Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer returns from his week off, replacing Joe Martinez, to introduce the fighters before they trade blows at UFC Baku.
