Jon Jones is still hoping a super fight between him and Francis Ngannou can be made.
The UFC heavyweight champion has been in talks to face interim titleholder Tom Aspinall all year.
Earlier this month, Jon Jones explained why he won’t fight the Englishman before calling out Francis Ngannou, who is currently plying his trade in PFL after bitterly splitting from the UFC in 2023.
Since then, UFC CEO Dana White has shut down Jones vs Ngannou talk and set a deadline for his potential unification clash with Aspinall to be made.

Jon Jones backs Dana White to make Francis Ngannou fight
Jon Jones appears to be unconcerned about the two-week deadline placed on his next fight.
Despite what his boss says, the greatest of all time still believes a scrap with Francis Ngannou is in play.
“I think Dana gets things done,” Jones said when asked about Ngannou on the Full Send podcast.
“I think business speaks before emotions.
“If Francis presents himself in a humble way, I think that he could very easily be back in the UFC.
“Absolutely,” Jones added when asked if he thinks Ngannou will return to the Octagon. “Dana White is one of the best sports minds in recent history for a reason. Money talks. Francis brings eyes, and I’m sure Dana will be interested.
“Time changes things, and time heals all. There was moments in my career where I thought Dana absolutely hated me. Now I feel he’s a big advocator for me.”
Jon Jones provides retirement update
Rumors about Jones being ‘retired’ have been floating around the internet recently.
Aspinall claims they are true, but the man himself doesn’t want to use that word right now.
However, it’s very clear that ‘Bones’ is planning to take an extended break from MMA.
“I don’t wanna say that I’m retired because fighting is in my blood,” Jones said in the same interview.
“Right now, I could really care less about fighting. I’ve been doing it my whole life at a really high level.
“When the itch comes back, and if it comes back, then I’ll do it with my whole heart and to the best of my abilities.”
