Alex Pereira shares prediction for UFC Baku main event between two of his former opponents

Alex Pereira is better placed than most to predict the UFC Baku main event.

Light heavyweight duo Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr will throw down on Saturday night.

Alex Pereira knocked out both of them during his reign as the 205lb UFC champion.

Jamahal got KO’d in the first round at UFC 300 in April 2024. A few months later, Khalil Rountree Jr suffered a TKO defeat after being beaten bloody by the Brazilian over four rounds at UFC 307 last October.

Alex Pereira predicts the UFC Baku main event

Alex Pereira believes Khalil Rountree Jr is the favorite heading the UFC’s first event in Azerbaijan.

‘Poatan’ thinks Jamahal Hill offered less than his upcoming opponent when they met inside the Octagon.

“They’re both great fighters and well-rounded,” Pereira told the UFC.

“I fought them both so I can say something more accurate.

“They’re both dangerous, but I think [judging] by my fight against Khalil, I see him having some advantage against Jamahal.

“That’s my opinion.”

What’s next for Alex Pereira?

Alex Pereira has kept a relatively low profile since he lost his light heavyweight title at UFC 313 in March.

Magomed Ankalaev outpointed him over five rounds to become the new 205lb king.

Post-fight, UFC CEO Dana White hinted that Pereira would get an immediate rematch against Ankalaev.

However, several months later, fans are still waiting for an official announcement about the fight.

“We haven’t talked about it yet but we know that it’s around October. It could be September, October, November,” Pereira said in his most recent comeback update.
