Julio Cesar Chavez Jr almost pulled off one of the craziest comebacks of all time when he fought former two-weight world champion Sergio Martinez in 2012.
On June 28, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr looks to become just the second fighter to beat internet sensation turned boxer Jake Paul, when they clash at the Honda Center.
Just a few weeks out from their clash, Paul has hinted that he has an intense weight cut on his hands as he has revealed his current weight.
Over his career, Chavez Jr has fought some of the best fighters in the world, including Canelo Alvarez, who he was humiliated by for 12 rounds.
However, the Mexican fighter has also showcased a lot of heart throughout his career, especially during his 2012 title fight against Sergio Martinez.

Chavez Jr almost pulled off epic comeback during fight against former two-weight champion
After beating Sebastian Zbik for the WBC middleweight title back in 2011, Chavez Jr successfully defended his strap just a few months later when he almost sent his challenger over the ropes in a dominant victory.
The Mexican then dominated Irish boogeyman Andy Lee a year later, defending his title for a third time before he was booked to fight former two-weight world champion Sergio Martinez.
Early in the fight, Martinez outworked the champion and it looked as though he was going to put on an utter masterclass before winning the title.
As the fight continued, the challenger continued to dominate Chavez Jr and it looked certain that the WBC middleweight title was going to change hands.
However, in the final round the champion almost pulled off one of the greatest comebacks of all time. Knowing he was majorly down on the scorecards Chavez Jr came out the blocks fast and put Martinez on the back foot.
Just over a minute into the round, Chavez Jr landed a huge left hook on the chin of Martinez which sent him through the ropes. After landing another crushing hook, Martinez dropped to the floor.
Somehow, Martinez made it back up to his feet and ate several more big shots before the final horn sounded, preventing Chavez Jr from pulling off the crazy comeback.
Chavez Jr was slapped with a nine-month suspension following the fight
Following his title loss, Chavez Jr was slapped with a nine-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after testing positive for marijuana.
The Mexican was also fined $900,000 after already having been suspended indefinitely by the World Boxing Council and fined an additional $20,000.
This wasn’t the first time in Chavez Jr’s career that he was suspended as in 2009 he was suspended for testing positive for a banned substance following a win over Troy Rowland.
