Kris Moutinho sends message to Dana White as he reflects on ‘another wasted opportunity’ after brutal KO loss

Kris Moutinho has broken his silence after suffering one of the most brutal KOs of the year thus far at UFC Atlanta.

The premier promotion returned to Atlanta this past Saturday for UFC Atlanta with a main event headlined by welterweights Kamaru Usman and Joaquin Buckley.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ successfully snapped his three fight losing streak after a considerable time out of the Octagon, dominating Buckley via unanimous decision.

However, it was a fight on the undercard between the returning Kris Moutinho and standout bantamweight contender Malcolm Wellmaker that ended up stealing the headlines.

Kris Moutinho suffered one of the most brutal KOs of the year

Wellmaker only made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC Kansas City and after Dana White gave him $50,000 for his one-punch KO, he quit his full-time job to fully focus on his UFC career.

Ahead of his clash against Moutinho, Dana White highlighted it as a UFC Atlanta fight that was going under the radar, imploring fans not to miss it.

And as the UFC boss guaranteed, the fight provided fireworks from the outset as Wellmaker showcased his high ceiling in the sport.

White previously labeled Moutinho a ‘zombie’ after his performance against Sean O’Malley several years ago, and he continued to showcase his solid chin in Atlanta.

However, in the final round, Moutinho’s chin cracked when Wellmaker unleashed a hellacious right hook on it, face-planting him to the ground.

Moutinho sends a message to Dana White following loss

Not long removed from his devastating loss, the 32-year-old sent a message to Dana White while being harsh on himself for his performance.

“So that f—— blew, another wasted opportunity, another failure to execute but it is what it is. God is still good, has given everything good in my life and has blessed me with that chance.

“Thank everyone that got me here… Thank you to the UFC, Dana White, Sean Shelby for the opportunity. I appreciate you, thank you for this crazy life,” Moutinho continued in his post on Instagram.

Having once again showcased his impenetrable heart and exciting fight style, Moutinho will undoubtedly be given another opportunity under the UFC banner.
