18-1 Russian scores ‘insane’ faceplant walk-off knockout over streaking contender at PFL 5

Magomed Umalatov returned to the win column in the best way possible at PFL 5.

The Russian contender made it to the welterweight tournament’s $1 million final before losing by knockout to Shamil Musaev last November.

Magomed Umalatov’s career took another hit when he was eliminated from the 2025 tournament after missing weight ahead of his ill-fated fight with Logan Storely in April.

On Thursday, ‘Prince’ ended his lengthy layoff with a sensational first-round knockout win at PFL 5.

Magomed Umalatov scores walk-off KO

Anthony Ivy was the unlucky fighter matched up against Magomed Umalatov at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

‘Aquaman’ was full of confidence as he rode a seven-fight win streak into his welterweight tournament alternate bout with one of the best fighters on the PFL roster.

Ivy was made to pay dearly when he hopped forward with a flying knee attempt midway through round one.

Umalatov knocked him off balance with a check hook before hitting him with a follow-up punch to close the show.

A second hook sent Ivy crashing face-first to the floor where he remained motionless while his opponent sprinted away to celebrate an emphatic return to winning ways.

Fans react to Magomed Umalatov faceplant finish

Jason Jackson and Thad Jean settled their bitter feud with a split decision in the PFL 5 main event.

However, no one else was able to pull off a highlight-reel KO like Magomed Umalatov’s.

Fans were fixated on the finish when they took to social media to discuss the latest PFL card.

“Prince is back,” one fan said. While another added: “Wow. Brutal way to go down.”

“Dude will be in the UFC before too long,” a third fan predicted.

“Slumped,” someone else tweeted.

“POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER,” another wrote.

“Insane KO UFC level guys 18-1 he should be in UFC,” a sixth fan insisted.
