Daniel Cormier says Ben Askren is still in hospital

Cormier confused some fans by saying Askren was ‘back home’ with his family

‘Funky’ has been transferred to a hospital in his home state of Wisconsin after initially falling ill during a trip to Las Vegas.

“I wanna report to you guys that he’s now back home in Wisconsin. He’s with his family, his beautiful wife, Amy,” Cormier said.

A clip of his comments was subsequently shared on social media by several people who had misunderstood the UFC Hall of Famer.

“Daniel Cormier clears the air — Ben Askren is back home and with his family after battling infection. Ignore the false rumors,” one popular MMA account wrote.

“Please keep praying for Ben. I should have been more clear.”
