In typical Kayla Harrison fashion, she has politely responded to the UFC GOAT who has advised her not to fight Amanda Nunes following her title win.
This past Saturday at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, Kayla Harrison successfully dethroned Julianna Pena with an extremely dominant performance and subsequent second round submission win.
Not only was it a huge feat to win the women’s bantamweight title but it was also a huge feat for Harrison to make 135lbs after another extremely brutal weight cut.
However, following the fight, Harrison was faced with her likely next opponent as Amanda Nunes stepped into the Octagon for an impromptu face off, declaring her comeback to the sport.

Harrison responds to UFC GOAT who advises against Nunes fight
A fight between Harrison and Amanda Nunes is not only huge because of both of their resumes in the sport, but because they also have a history as training partners.
And because of that, this potential fight is being touted as potentially the biggest women’s fight ever with fans salivating at the thought of it.
However, not everyone is keen on the prospect of the blockbuster fight. Former UFC flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson advised Harrison to retire instead of fighting Nunes, claiming that it would be an ‘easy’ fight for ‘The Lioness’.
Despite that, Harrison is one of the most fierce competitors in the sport and she will undoubtedly want to add Nunes’ name to her resume to continue enhancing her legacy.
“Big fan of Mighty. Bigger believer in myself,” Harrison responded to Demetrious Johnson‘s advice.
Julianna Pena suspended indefinitely following UFC 316
Just a few days removed from her title loss, Pena was slammed by the UFC fanbase after ‘calling dibs’ on fighting the winner of Harrison vs Nunes, despite having lost to both fighters and being 3-3 in her last six fights.
However, following her submission loss in Newark, Pena has been handed an indefinite suspension until she receives clearance from an orthopedist for injuries to her left elbow and left shoulder.
