‘Delusional’ Julianna Pena slammed for ‘calling dibs’ on fighting the winner of Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes

Julianna Pena may have to come back down to earth following her UFC 316 title loss against Kayla Harrison.

This past Saturday at UFC 316, Julianna Pena‘s women’s bantamweight title reign came to an end when she was submitted in the second round by Kayla Harrison.

Immediately after the fight, Harrison faced off with her likely next challenger, Amanda Nunes, who announced her comeback prior to the fight.

Not long removed from her disappointing performance, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ broke her silence on social media, apologizing to her fans for her tepid display.

Julianna Pena slammed by fans for ‘calling dibs’ on Harrison vs Nunes winner

In her statement to the fans, Pena finished it off by saying: “Time to get healed up and get ready for her next fight because I’m calling dibs on the winner!”

Before fighting Raquel Pennington for the vacant title last October, Pena was absolutely battered by Nunes in their rematch at UFC 277, which led to a lot criticism from the fans.

Pena is now 3-3 in her last six fights, and will undoubtedly not be in the conversation for a title shot in her next fight, despite ‘calling dibs’.

“Hilarious! No one wants to see her in a title fight again,” one fan reacted to Pena’s comments.

“Julianna must have got concussed,” another fan said.

“She’s so delusional, bruh,” a third fan commented.

“I’m a Pena fan and uh, no. Matter of fact, I heard the UFC started a BJJ league, head over there, take Miesha (Tate) with you and have some fun,” one fan suggested.

Who should Julianna Pena fight next?

The former women’s bantamweight champion doesn’t lack in confidence, however, she will undoubtedly need to pick up at least one or two wins before being considered for another title fight.

And although the 135lb division is lacking contenders, there are a few names that could make sense for Pena next.

Ketlen Vieira is 2-2 in her last four fights but still occupies number three in the division and is coming off the back of a win over Macy Chiasson.

Another contender that could make sense next for Pena is Norma Dumont. Dumont is currently on a five-fight win streak and is surging up the rankings.
