Conor McGregor angles for Road House 2 role as he insists movie ‘is nothing’ without his character

Conor McGregor is still waiting to be offered a role in the Road House sequel.

The 2024 remake of the 1989 classic starred Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, a former UFC fighter-turned-bouncer, who helped fend off a local crime boss in an action-packed movie that broke Amazon Prime viewing records.

Conor McGregor played the antagonist Knox in Road House, a ruthless Irish enforcer-for-hire who loves fighting and beating people up.

It was recently revealed that Road House 2 is in the works, with Gyllenhaal set to reprise his leading role and Guy Ritchie coming aboard to direct the film – but it’s currently unclear if the UFC’s biggest star will be brought back.

Conor McGregor wants to return for Road House 2

On Monday, Conor McGregor shared a clip of him discussing his acting debut on social media.

‘Notorious’ added a caption that called for fans to help bag him a role in the soon-to-be-filmed sequel.

“Roadhouse is nothing without big, bad “Knox”, let them know,” McGregor tweeted.

“And if you haven’t watched it yet, catch it on @PrimeVideo now “Roadhouse” ft McGregor as Knox and Jake Gyllenhaal as “Dalton” Reimagining of the iconic Patrick Swayze classic!”

Nate Diaz turned down Conor McGregor’s role

One of Conor McGregor’s old UFC rivals recently claimed he was the first choice for Road House.

Nate Diaz revealed his bizarre reason for turning down the role his two-time foe eventually took on.

“I was supposed to do Conor McGregor’s part in Road House,” he said

“That was my part but I was like, ‘I’m not fighting, I’m not going in there and losing a fight’.

“I seen the original Road House, I’m like, ‘So I’m the main bad guy, I’m supposed to fight. Okay, who’s the Patrick Swayze then?’ And they said it was Jake Gyllenhaal and I’m like, ‘I ain’t going in no movie and losing to no ‘Brokeback Mountain’. I’m good.’”

“I’m like, ‘I can’t see it, I can’t do it. I ain’t losing to nobody in no fight.’”
