Patchy Mix’s long awaited debut in the UFC didn’t entirely go to plan at UFC 316 on Saturday.
A few weeks ago, it was finally announced that former Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix has finally signed with the UFC after he and the PFL came to an agreement to terminate his contract.
Along with the announcement of Mix’s signing, it was announced that he would step in to fight Mario Bautista at UFC 316, on the undercard of the huge bantamweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.
Ahead of their fight at UFC 316, ‘No Love’ Mix and Bautista traded verbal barbs online, as Mix stated that he would submit the ‘journeyman’ with ease.

Mario Bautista scores dominant win over Patchy Mix at UFC 316
Despite his exuding confidence heading into his UFC debut in Newark, New Jersey, Mix started off his fight against Mario Bautista in terrible fashion.
Early on in the fight, Bautista showcased a clear striking discrepancy between the two as Mix couldn’t evade any of Bautista’s punches, eating every single one of them.
Despite consistently getting buzzed early on, ‘No Love’ didn’t make any adjustments as the round went on and continued to eat left and right hands on the chin.
Pretty quickly into the fight, Mix began bleeding from the eyebrows and nose, which came as a huge surprise to fans.
Although he held a huge grappling advantage over Bautista, Mix didn’t attempt to get the fight to the ground and continued to try and strike with the MMA Lab product throughout the second round.
It wasn’t until the end of round three when Mix finally landed something of note but he left it way too late to even attempt to finish the fight, and at that point, he was already down on the scorecards.
The judges went on to award Bautista with the unanimous decision victory, completely raining on Mix’s debut parade.
“Patchy Mix might have just suffered the biggest fraud check of 2025,” one fan commented on Mix’s performance.
Before UFC 316, many fans were suggesting that Mix could go on to challenge either Dvalishvili or O’Malley for the bantamweight title.
Mix claimed that he would ‘viciously strangle’ Sean O’Malley
Before joining the premier promotion, Mix made a bold claim that he would ‘viciously strangle’ O’Malley, attempting to set up a potential future fight in the UFC.
Despite that, following his loss to Bautista at UFC 316, Mix will likely go back to the drawing board and will be matched up against a contender outside of the top 10 of the 135lb division.
