Jon Jones has seemingly confirmed that he is retired from MMA.
The UFC heavyweight champion hasn’t fought since knocking out Stipe Miocic to defend his belt at UFC 309 last November.
Since then, Dana White has been trying to convince ‘Bones’ to fight interim titleholder Tom Aspinall.
On Friday, Jon Jones suggested that fight won’t be happening because he’s walking away from fighting.

Jon Jones confirms retirement?
The greatest fighter of all time spent his Thursday night answering questions from fans on social media.
Many of them were angry, accusing him of ‘ducking’ a fight with Tom Aspinall, who recently claimed that Jon Jones is retired.
Jones seemingly confirmed that to be true while responding to a fan who accused him of being ‘scared’ of the heavy-handed Englishman.
“It really has nothing to do with fear.” the 37-year-old UFC Hall of Famer tweeted.
“The question I asked my close friends and family is how much higher can a person like me climbing this sport.
“The goal for athletes is to build a brand and then take that brand and become so much more than an athlete.
“A lot of the fans and fighters are not used to seeing someone go out on top the way I have.
“I get that it’s uncomfortable and I don’t expect people to understand territories that they’ve never been.”
What’s next for Tom Aspinall?
Even though he’s missed out on a massive fight, Tom Aspinall is happy to have a resolution.
The 31-year-old hasn’t fought since knocking out Curtis Blaydes in 60 seconds at UFC 304 last July.
Now he’s got a ‘date and location’ to face someone else after Jon Jones opted against fighting him.
It’s currently unclear who his opponent will be as the UFC heavyweight division is shallow right now.
UFC 316 could be the perfect moment for the powers that be to reveal what’s next for Aspinall.
