Not many fighters set to compete at UFC 316 are as hard-hitting as this welterweight.
Saturday sees the Octagon back inside the Prudential Center in Newark, as the MMA leader stages its latest pay-per-view event.
All eyes will be on the UFC 316 main event, which will see UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili fight Sean O’Malley in a rematch.
Below the headliner are a number of notable names, including a power-puncher whose highlight reel boasts one of the all-time most brutal UFC finishes.
Khaos Williams flattened KO artist Abdul Razak Alhassan in frightening UFC finish
Among the names slated to make the walk during the June 7 preliminary card is welterweight Khaos Williams.
In a statement-making UFC debut, Williams knocked out Alex Morono at UFC 247 in just 27 seconds. But it didn’t take ‘The Oxfighter’ long to somehow top that emphatic arrival on the brutality scale.
For just his second Octagon appearance, the 31-year-old was paired up against one of the promotion’s most feared knockout artists, Abdul Razak Alhassan.
But the Ghanaian powerhouse would not add to his KO tally at UFC Vegas 14. Instead, he would be the victim of such a result.
After just 30 seconds, the American flattened Alhassan with a clean right hand, leaving the African veteran out cold and stiff as a board.
The vicious knockout drew out wild reactions from the commentary team, as Williams signaled himself out as one of the sport’s hardest punchers.
Michael Bisping revealed disturbing details about brutal Khaos Williams KO
The insane knockout left Alhassan audibly snoring, and according to one man close to the scene, the Ghanaian did not wake for around 10 minutes.
Michael Bisping made that claim during a now-private episode of his Believe You Me podcast on YouTube.
“Abdul Razak Alhassan was asleep for about 10 minutes. I have never seen somebody unconscious for that amount of time before. He was stiff as a f–king board. He just wasn’t moving for like 10 minutes.” [h/t Sportskeeda]
It’ll be a relief for Williams when he enters the cage on Saturday given his bad luck with opponent dropouts in recent days and weeks. The 31-year-old has been matched against three different opponents for UFC 316.
After the withdrawals of Uros Medic and Albert Tadevosyan, ‘The Oxfighter’ is now scheduled to face 11-2 Swedish fighter Andreas Gustafsson in Newark.
