Only four former Contender Series fighters have more UFC wins than Sean O’Malley, including one fellow UFC 316 star

Sean O’Malley is looking to earn his 11th win inside the Octagon when he returns on June 7.

In the main event of UFC 316, O’Malley will look to avenge his loss to Merab Dvalishvili to reclaim the bantamweight title.

Back in 2023, ‘Suga’ became just one of three men who has become a UFC champion after earning their spot on the roster via Dana White’s Contender Series.

O’Malley was tipped for big things ever since his star-making performance on season one in 2017 with his knockout of Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 seeing him realize that potential.

Despite his incredible success inside the Octagon, there are four names that have earned more wins in the UFC since taking part in the world’s most intense job interview.

The likes of Kevin Holland have won more UFC fights than Sean O’Malley following Dana White’s Contender Series appearances

Sean O’Malley is part of a very small number of fighters who have been able to reach 10 UFC wins after coming through Dana White’s Contender Series.

While the other names that have accomplished this feat can’t match his resume, with wins over the likes of Aljamain Sterling, Marlon Vera and Petr Yan, there are four fighters who have recorded more victories.

The top of the list is Kevin Holland, who is also set to feature on UFC 316 this weekend when he takes on Vicente Luque.

Having tied the UFC record for most wins in a calendar year when he produced five victories in 2020, it’s no surprise to see the constantly active ‘Trailblazer’ here after he featured on DWCS back in 2018.

Middleweight contender Brendan Allen takes the second spot at 12 wins having submitted Aaron Jeffery in 2019 to earn his UFC contract.

‘All In’ will look to add to this number when he faces Marvin Vettori in a grudge match at UFC 318 next month.

Joint third place goes to both Grant Dawson and Dan Ige who both have 11 wins inside the Octagon.

Dawson booked his spot on the roster with a submission win in 2017 while Ige’s win on the show didn’t earn him a contract, though he did receive a late notice debut the following year.

Several other current UFC stars could hit the 10-win club in the near future

Along with producing three UFC champions, Dana White’s Contender Series has featured a list of fighters that have gone on to become contenders in their respective divisions.

Here are several big names who seem very likely to hit 10 UFC wins after appearing on DWCS in the past.
