Bryce Mitchell’s former rival blasted his unusual training footage as both fighters prepare for UFC comebacks.
UFC featherweights Jean Silva and Bryce Mitchell are months removed from their clash at UFC 314, but their bad blood continues to boil.
Silva finished Mitchell by second-round submission in a highlight-reel moment at UFC 314 in Miami. Under the biggest spotlight of his young UFC career, Silva rose to the occasion as he put Mitchell to sleep to earn a spot in the featherweight Top 15.
Mitchell is known as one of the UFC’s most unusual characters, for better and for worse. As Mitchell prepares for his next UFC booking, he’s going bizarre lengths to ensure peak performance in his return to the Octagon.

Bryce Mitchell blasted by former rival after posting questionable heavy bag footage
Mitchell used one of his dead cattle as a heavy bag with one of his coaches on site in Arkansas. The footage drew mixed reviews from Mitchell’s fanbase, with some criticizing the featherweight for using a dead animal as a piece of training equipment.
Silva seized the opportunity to poke fun at Mitchell on social media.
After Mitchell posted his unorthodox training footage to Instagram, it didn’t take long for his former foe to respond.
“Only this way for you to hit someone!” Silva commented.
“You’d better stay on the farm taking care of cattle, because things aren’t working out with athletes!”
In the lead-up to UFC 314, Mitchell accused Silva of using demonic means to impact his sleep ahead of their fight. As of this writing, Mitchell hasn’t responded to Silva’s social media comments.
Silva is on the quick ascent to a potential featherweight title shot after his massive win over Mitchell. Silva was briefly linked to a potential showdown with Alexander Volkanovski, after Volkanovski returned to the featherweight throne in the UFC 314 headliner.

Jean Silva continues to poke fun at Bryce Mitchell in UFC 314 aftermath
This isn’t the first time Silva has trolled Mitchell since their fight. Last month, after Mitchell posted a clip of him wailing at a tree stump, Silva reminded Mitchell of how their fight ended in the post’s comments.
Silva could get a matchup with a Top 10 contender for his next fight, which has yet to be announced. Mitchell’s next booking hasn’t been publicized as he looks to get back on track following the loss to Silva.
Before falling to Silva at UFC 314, Mitchell knocked out Kron Gracie in a brutal slam finish at UFC 310. He’s traded wins and losses in his UFC career since his time on The Ultimate Fighter 27.
Silva and Mitchell remain on each other’s nerves months after their collision in the Octagon. As Mitchell continues to share his unusual training methods, Silva isn’t missing a chance to poke fun at his former foe.
