UFC Vegas 107 is down a fight amid a chaotic day at weigh-ins ahead of what was due to be a relatively innocuous fight night.
The Apex show is headlined by a grudge fight between Maycee Barber and Erin Blanchfield with flyweight title implications. The former has spent the build-up roasting her rival, but it was Blanchfield who got the last laugh, and 20 per cent of her rival’s purse, as Barber missed weight by half a pound.
That weight miss was lucky not to cost the card another key fight, as Andreas Gustafsson’s anticipated debut was officially canceled as well due to an injury. There was also further drama on the scales in a bizarre day at the UFC Apex.

Maycee Baber misses weight in bizarre final day of UFC Vegas 107 fight week
Maycee Barber spent the entirety of fight week ahead of UFC Vegas 107 trash talking her rival Erin Blanchfield, and promising a brutal showing on Saturday. Unfortunately, it seems that she flubbed the final hurdle as she weighed in at 126.5lb, just half a pound over the extended flyweight limit.
Blanchfield hit the scales at championship weight of 125lb. The pair have since agreed to move forward with a catchweight fight where the number-four ranked contender will earn 20 per cent of her rival’s purse as a penalty.
It wasn’t the only flyweight fight to result in a weight miss, with Allan Nascimento coming in at 127.5lb for his bout with Jafel Filho.
There was also a late divisional change for Ketlen Vieira vs Macy Chiasson, with the former coming in at 146lb for the newly-featherweight contest and forfeiting 25 per cent of her earnings. They were due to compete at bantamweight.
Andreas Gustafsson’s UFC debut canceled after late replacement is forced out
The big disaster for the card seems to have come just before fighters hit the scales. Swedish rising star Andreas Gustafsson was due to finally fight in the octagon after a stunning win on Dana White’s Contender Series earned him a shot.

Gustafsson was due to face Jeremiah Wells at welterweight, before his rival pulled out of the fight on late notice. Trevin Giles stepped up, although he needed a catchweight in order to make the fight feasible and still was unable to make the scales after suffering an injury.
It is believed that Gustafsson has been asked by the UFC to stay in the United States in hopes that matchmakers can book him for their UFC 316 pay-per-view event in Newark next weekend.
