UFC Vegas 107 staff picks including Erin Blanchfield to beat Maycee Barber, Zachary Reese impresses and more predictions

UFC Vegas 107 is the next big event from the UFC, and there are some exciting fights ready to go at the UFC Apex.

Two of the top women’s fighters in the UFC clash as Erin Blanchfield takes on Maycee Barber in the main event.

Both women are in the top 5 rankings in the UFC Women’s Flyweight division and know that a win moves them closer to a world title fight.

Meanwhile, the co-main event pits #7 ranked Mateusz Gamrot against the impressive but unranked Ľudovít Klein in Las Vegas.

Gamrot walks into the fight with a black eye and will have to avoid further injury if he wants to cement himself as a potential title contender for the UFC Flyweight championship.

Ahead of UFC Vegas 107, the experts at Bloody Elbow have made their staff picks for the two main event fights, as well as the Performance of the Night and their Fight of the Night.

Erin Blanchfield vs. Maycee Barber

It was a clean sweep from the Bloody Elbow experts as they all predicted that Erin Blanchfield would beat Maycee Barber in the UFC 316 main event.

The fight was originally meant to take place at UFC 269, but Barber pulled out and the fight was cancelled.

Four years later, and Blanchfield has been on a tear in the UFC Women’s Flyweight division. She has lost just once since then, winning 5 fights by either submission or unanimous decision.

The experts can’t look past this form, despite a recent loss to Manon Fiorot, and Barber being undefeated since a loss to Alexa Grasso in 2021.

Both women are in the top 5 rankings in the division, and the winner will presumably move towards a title shot against Valentina Shevchenko, which we think will be #4 ranked Erin Blanchfield.

Her win over a top striker in Rose Namajunas showed how good she could be, and Barber will not be able to defend against her in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Mateusz Gamrot vs. Ľudovít Klein

Gamrot shouldn’t be worried at all about his fight with Klein at UFC Vegas 107, as the #7 ranked Lightweight has more than enough talent and experience to put away his unranked opponent.

The Bloody Elbow staff also all agreed that “Gamer” will walk out of Las Vegas with the victory, despite coming off the back of a loss with Dan Hooker.

That fight at UFC 305 was the last time the Pole stepped into the octagon. At 34, he was worried about running out of time in his career, so he accepted the fight with Klein to keep his career alive.

However, it won’t be an easy win for Gamrot. Klein hasn’t lost since 2021, although his last fight was also nearly a year ago.

Both men will have ring rust going into the bout, but Gamrot will have a good chance of KOing Mr Highlight at UFC Vegas 107.

He is 4-2 against top 10 ranked fighters and felt he won the bout with Hooker, although the judges disagreed and should have more than enough about him to show Klein why he’s so highly ranked.

Fight of the Night

James bucked the trend for UFC Vegas 107 by choosing differently from his fellow Bloody Elbow experts for his pick for Fight of the Night.

He chose the Dustin Jacoby vs. Bruno Lopes fight as the one he’s most excited to see. Jacoby is a decorated kickboxer, but will have the huge power of Lopes to contend with, which will make this an interesting fight to watch.

Jacoby is at the stage of his career where this may be a fight too far, but he will give all he can against Lopes in what should be an incredible bout.

Meanwhile, the other 3 experts all predict that Ramiz Brahimaj vs Billy Ray Goff will be the Fight of the Night at UFC Vegas 107.

This fight should be a messy one. While Brahimaj is a clean, impressive boxer, Goff is prone to throwing out so much offense with very little technical skill that anything could happen in this fight.

This scrappy fighter should bring the chaos to the fight, something that Brahimaj can’t possibly prepare for.

Performance of the night

The experts are once again unanimous when choosing the performance of the night and are excited to see Zachary Reese at his best against Duško Todorović.

The Texan may have been knocked out in his last fight, but he guarantees entertainment whenever he’s in the octagon.

With 2 wins, 2 losses, and all of them by different finishes, you never know what you’ll get with Reese. This makes his fights so exciting and a guarantee to be one of the best of the night.

Todorović lost his last 2 fights by KO and has a very poor chin at this point in his career, which makes him a prime target for Reese, who should walk away with that $50,000 bonus at UFC Vegas 107.
