14-fight UFC veteran ends two-year hiatus to headline PFL event against undefeated star

‘Hot Chocolate’ is finally gearing up to make the walk again having not fought since July of 2023.

PFL Europe is set to host their second event of 2025 in several weeks’ time with the promotion arriving at the ING Arena in Belgium for the first time.

The promotion’s Belfast event earlier this year was a big success, with Paul Hughes making a statement in the main event.

Rising Belgian star Patrick Habirora will look to receive a similar homecoming to the likes of Hughes and Cedric Doumbe when he brings the first major MMA event to his home country.

‘The Belgian Bomber’ will be looking to secure the biggest win of his career to date when he takes on a veteran of the European scene who has a track record for producing firefights.

Danny Roberts makes his long awaited return to face Patrick Habirora in Belgium

Standing across the cage from Patrick Habirora on July 5 will be former UFC veteran, Danny Roberts.

‘Hot Chocolate’ competed 14 times inside the Octagon, making a name for himself with several highlight reel finishes and barnburner clashes.

Roberts debuted in the UFC back in 2015 before going on to secure three fight of the night bonuses, facing opponents like Mike Perry and Jack Della Maddalena.

The 37-year-old hasn’t competed since his final Octagon appearance at the UFC Fight Night event in London (July, 2023) which was headlined by Tom Aspinall vs Marcin Tybura.

Roberts was previously set to face former PFL fighter Neiman Gracie at the GFL’s debut event on May 24 but the promotion’s events were postponed indefinitely.

Patrick Habirora could be on the verge of his breakout moment

Having achieved great success as an amateur, Patrick Habirora was a big acquisition for the PFL and it’s already paying off for them.

After going 6-0 with five finishes, this matchup will see him move to welterweight to take on his most experienced opponent to date.

Danny Roberts is certainly no easy test for the undefeated prospect but if Habirora is able to secure the win in front of his home fans, we could be witnessing the birth of another European star.

As is often the case when Roberts steps inside the cage, expect fireworks from an early stage on July 5.
