Dillon Danis has sent a brief message to Tony Ferguson after the UFC legend promised they would fight.
The pair were due to headline the first weekend of GFL action, which would have taken place in Los Angeles last weekend. Unfortunately, the pair of events was canceled over a month before it was due to take place, meaning the bout was canceled.
It compounded a disastrous couple of weeks for Danis, who was due to face YouTuber KSI in a boxing match a few weeks before taking on Ferguson. But within a few days both of the fights were canceled as the Brit claimed to have suffered an illness so bad that he had to pull out of their meeting.
Dillon Danis and Tony Ferguson trade barbs as fight rescheduling talks heat up
When the GFL’s inaugural set of events were canceled, it seemed that the matchup between Dillon Danis and Tony Ferguson had fallen by the wayside. The pairing was always a bit random, but had excited fans and was due to headline night two of a star-studded extravaganza.
However, Ferguson has now taken to social media to remind fans about the matchup, declaring that it is still on as far as he is concerned. “Ahhhh Yes, The Journey Is The Part You Remember Anyways,” Ferguson wrote on Instagram.
“Ol’e Moose Knuckle Danis Still Gon’Get Demolished. I Know Kung Fooooooooooo. Ahhh Wah Wah Wahhh Waaaaaaaaaaahhhh Zaaaaaahhhh MF’as!!! Act Accordingly & Form Rank B—-es -Champ – CSO – #FightNewsSoon.”
Danis then took to his private Instagram account TheMadSamurai, telling fans to “Let him know I’m gonna ankle pick his a–.”
Dillon Danis has been out of action for almost two years
For Danis, the frustration of cancellations has been a major story of his past few years. He lost three years of his career to knee injuries after just two Bellator fights before returning in a boxing grudge match with Logan Paul in 2023.

Then he was out again for the entirety of 2024 before signing on for two fights in less than two months this year. Somehow, he maintains his intensive training schedule despite all of these issues, and showed off recent images from after sessions on his Instagram story after sending the message to Ferguson.
Misfits Boxing boss Mams Taylor has vowed to make another fight for Danis, writing in response to a lengthy message from the fighter following his cancellations: “You’ve sure had some bad luck. You’re fighting soon Danis.”
