Conor McGregor celebrates title win in another sport as UFC comeback stalls

UFC superstar Conor McGregor added another accolade to his Black Forge Inn business as he continues to tease a fighting return.

Long before Conor McGregor became one of the biggest stars in combat sports, he was a child with a different dream in Ireland. Growing up, McGregor was an avid footballer and dreamed of one day playing for a prominent club and turning professional.

While McGregor fell short of his childhood aspirations, he remains an avid fan of football, and continues to play on the amateur level in Ireland. McGregor’s play for Black Forge FC has kept him physically active while he continues to flip-flop on a potential return to fighting.

Conor McGregor fulfills childhood dream with title win for Black Forge FC

Amidst his ongoing hiatus from MMA, McGregor has profited from several of his prominent businesses outside of fighting. One of which is his Black Forge Inn pub, which continues to attract high patron volumes, featuring the Proper 12 Irish Whiskey brand.

McGregor helped establish Black Forge FC in the UCFL premier league, and the amateur club enjoyed great success this season. On Friday, McGregor and Black Forge FC defeated Mountview CFC 4-3 to win the premier league division title.

After their title win, it didn’t take long for McGregor to bask in the accomplishments of the team.

In a recent post on X, McGregor shared footage of him celebrating with the Black Forge FC club after their championship win.

“BLACK FORGE F.C. UCFL PREMIER DIVISION CHAMPIONS,” McGregor posted Sunday.

“WHAT A TEAM, WHAT A BOOZER!”

Conor McGregor in ‘serious talks’ to buy OnlyFans platform

McGregor remains busy away from the cage as he continues to tease a potential return to the Octagon. But McGregor’s previously targeted comeback has stalled in recent months, since he withdrew from UFC 303 due to a toe injury.

McGregor was supposed to headline UFC 303 against Michael Chandler, and the matchup wasn’t immediately rebooked upon his recovery. McGregor was briefly linked to a boxing match with Logan Paul earlier this year before the UFC squashed negotiations, as the former two-division champion remains under contract with the promotion.

In the meantime, McGregor claimed he’s in serious negotiations to purchase OnlyFans after the platform was put up for sale earlier this month. OnlyFans has an asking price between $1 billion and $3 billion, but the company is struggling to sell due to the platform’s association with pornography for profit.

McGregor hasn’t fought in MMA since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He’s lost three of his last four UFC fights overall, with his last win coming against Donald Cerrone in Jan. 2020.
