Conor McGregor accused of begging UFC legend for trash-talk material during historic run

Conor McGregor’s trash-talk is widely considered as the best in UFC history, but he has been accused of it not being his own material.

During Conor McGregor‘s historic run in the UFC, he gained so many of his fans because of his sometimes hilarious and witty trash-talk to his opponents.

McGregor recently excited fans with a potential UFC comeback hint, ordering UFC boss Dana White to send ‘that big butt nurse’, potentially hinting at returning to the testing pool.

However, White recently provided a bleak update, claiming he won’t be fighting any time soon, putting a stop to any sort of rumors regarding a potential fight against Michael Chandler.

Chael Sonnen accuses Conor McGregor of begging him for trash-talk material

‘The Notorious’ is widely regarded as the greatest trash-talker in combat sports history, getting into his opponents’ heads and beating them before they’d even stepped into the Octagon to fight each other.

However, UFC legend Chael Sonnen is regarded as the original king of trash-talk, implementing a wittier style to his pre-fight mental warfare.

Recently, Sonnen has been involved in a bizarre online feud with former UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev.

The former UFC title challenger accused Makhachev of ‘cowardice’ after moving up to the welterweight division instead of defending his lightweight title against Ilia Topuria.

After Makhachev responded to Sonnen’s criticism, Sonnen went on to tell Makhachev to come back to him for advice once he’s tired of ‘rolling around in front of bored crowds’.

“When you’re tired of rolling around in front of bored crowds and drawing fewer viewers than a Hog-Hollerin’ contest, get in touch. You won’t be the first guy from your gym who begged me for material,” Sonnen claimed.

However, the UFC legend went on to drop a bombshell that former UFC double champion, McGregor, also ‘begged’ him for trash-talk material before his historic run in the promotion.

“In fact, it wouldn’t be the first time YOUR guy and the OTHER (Ireland flag) guy, BOTH used material they begged me to give them to become interesting,” Sonnen said.

Conor McGregor destroyed UFC legend with trash-talk before record-breaking KO

When McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo to win the UFC featherweight title in 2015, he famously predicted the exact shot he would sink the Brazilian with.

The Irishman was credited with beating Aldo before the two even stepped into the Octagon, destroying him with mental warfare throughout their press tour around the world.
