Jon Jones breaks silence on Nate Diaz brawl

Nate Diaz’s teammate, Jake Shields, shared their side of the story on his YouTube channel.

Until now, Jon Jones had remained silent on the brawl, which somewhat spoiled his epic time in Thailand.

“We had one of our young fighters, a guy named Zalik, he was playing with Nate,” ‘Bones’ explained.

“He wanted to play fight with Nate. Nate kind of came in a little bit on edge. I think he had some previous beef with some Russian fighters, so he was a little bit on edge when he got here.

“Play fighting with Nate was not the best idea. It became serious right away, and we had to replace Nate.”

Is Jon Jones retired?

The greatest fighter of all time has spent the past few days dropping contradictory hints about his UFC future.

On Monday, Jones sent MMA fans into meltdown by publicly saying he’s ‘done’ with the sport.

Less than 24 hours later, the 37-year-old suggested that he will soon return to the UFC Octagon.

“What I feel like returning to the UFC after some much-needed downtime,” Jones wrote alongside a video showing a dog chasing other dogs out of its yard.”

A day later, the UFC heavyweight champion clarified that he’s not retired and is simply enjoying an extended break from fighting.

“I don’t know if I wanna call it retired,” Jones tweeted in response to a fan asking him about his life after fighting.

“I feel like I’ll always have an ability to pop out and show em. I’ve had many breaks throughout my career, my identity outside of fighting is well intact. I’m genuinely enjoying life, I’m growing in different ways.”
