UFC Vegas 107 star worries fans with busted up appearance after ‘light sparring’ with Dustin Poirier

UFC fans are worried about Mateusz Gamrot ahead of his upcoming return to the Octagon.

The #8 ranked lightweight contender is set to face Ľudovít Klein at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31.

To prepare, he’s been sparring with Dustin Poirier, who has just started camp for his retirement fight against BMF champion Max Holloway at UFC 318 in July.

Mateusz Gamrot describes it as ‘light sparring’ but his busted-up face tells another story.

Mateusz Gamrot explains his black eye

On Monday, Mateusz Gamrot made an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show to talk up his fight.

However, fans were distracted by the fact he was sporting a massive black eye.

“Just a normal day in the ATT office,” Gamrot said when asked to explain his disheveled appearance.

“Light sparring with Dustin this morning. Everything is fine. I’m just scratched and a little bit swollen.

“I feel great. I feel amazing.”

Unfortunately, Gamrot wasn’t able to convince everyone all is well ahead of UFC Vegas 107.

UFC fans are worried about Mateusz Gamrot

It didn’t take long for pictures of Mateusz Gamrot’s busted face to go viral on social media.

Many fans expressed concern about the apparent beating Dustin Poirier had given his teammate.

One fan said: “What sparring Dustin does to a guy.” Another asked: “Gamrot fights in less than two weeks, why does he look like this right now?”

“Isn’t he fighting next weekend? Dude needs to chill on the hard sparring,” a third X user commented.

“Goddamn, they beat the f— out of him,” someone else wrote.

“Sparring like an idiot,” a fifth fan fumed.

“No big deal, in four days you won’t even see it,” this relaxed fan insisted.
