Where Nate Diaz and his team go, drama has a history of following them.
Both Nick and Nate Diaz have been involved in a lot of brawls during their MMA careers where they’ve become two of the biggest fan favorites in the history of the sport.
Having made his way into the UFC via ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, the younger brother was recently announced to be taking on a coaching role in a surprising new venture.
Diaz and Jon Jones were set to appear on ‘ALF Reality’, a Russian show that is very similar to ‘TUF’ which has had several UFC stars serve as coaches in the past.
It turns out that Diaz and Jones’ comments on Islam Makhachev are only the very start of the controversy that kicked off nearly immediately.

Nate Diaz’s previous feuds with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev for brawl that led to reality show exit
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Jake Shields documented the short and “chaotic” process of being in Thailand with Nate Diaz to shoot ‘ALF Reality’.
Shields states early on in the video that he and the rest of the team were skeptical about how it would go due to their previous conflicts with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev.
When they first arrived at the location and were greeted by a lot of Russians and Chechens, as Shields recalls, there was concern that someone might try to test them.
Though things calmed down when Jon Jones arrived, Shields says that the entire setup was incredibly unprofessional with crew members running around and contestants constantly getting into fights without anyone breaking them up.
One fighter, who has supposedly caused some controversy on previous seasons, looked to provoke Diaz and when Shields stepped in to try and send a message to anyone else that tries the same thing, he claims that he was hit by one of the crew members.
The former UFC title challenger stated in the video that he was incredibly doubtful that despite there being so many crew members, no one was able to stop this guy from trying to attack people.
As a result, Diaz and his team decided to get out of there and they didn’t return to film any more of the series.
“Once a couple guys tried to blitz me, I’m looking around at, you know, a hundred dudes. It’s like, oh s—, I better deescalate this situation, not get crazy. So, at that point, we calmed down, stayed there a little bit longer but it was just chaos.
“There kept almost being fights, people getting smacked, it was just too much. We started bouncing, they were trying to say we couldn’t leave. We’re just like, ‘Nah, we’re f—— leaving.'”

The drama didn’t end there during Nate Diaz’s trip to Thailand
Jake Shields ended the video by stating that there were several fighters who claimed that they were looking for Nate Diaz and the rest of the team.
He made it clear that anyone who wanted to know could’ve easily found out where they were because they stayed in the same hotel that they were brought to, along with hanging out at the beach.
“People have been sending me videos from Russian Instagram and TV and stuff, whatever. Supposedly, these Russian and Chechnyan fighters looking for us around Thailand but the drivers drove us to our hotel, they knew exactly where we were.
“We were in the same area for three days, four days, going to the exact same places. Everyone knew where we were at, we were chilling right there. They were just running their mouth trying to act tough.”
