Heavyweight boxing legend Tyson Fury sounds like a man on the verge of a return to the ring.
After a second-straight loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December, Tyson Fury announced his retirement from boxing, amidst speculation he could return to the ring to face longtime UK nemesis Anthony Joshua. But just months after his announcement, Fury sounds like someone ready to reverse course on retirement for a lucrative payday.
Fury lost back-to-back decisions to Usyk last year in the first two losses of his professional boxing career. With the Usyk rivalry cemented, Fury opted to walk away from fighting instead of pursuing other avenues to a title, including a possible showdown with Daniel Dubois.
But while Fury seemed content in his decision to retire, he’s repeatedly teased a comeback in a few veiled messages, including in reuniting with his longtime coach earlier this year.

Tyson Fury heads to ‘business meeting’ with father amidst Anthony Joshua fight rumors
Fury and Joshua have long entertained the possibility of making one of the biggest fights in British boxing history come to fruition. With both fighters coming off of losing skids, the time might be better than ever to make it happen.
After Joshua was in brief talks to face Jake Paul in a heavyweight fight, he’s since pivoted to other options, including a possible Fury lure back to the sport. Before his back-to-back losses to Usyk, Fury defeated former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou by split decision in a controversial result.
But as Fury ponders his options, he and his team are in active talks with an unknown party to secure a return to the ring, potentially against Joshua.
In a recent Instagram story post, Fury shared a clip of him and his Dad heading to an undisclosed ‘business meeting’.
“Business meeting today, Dad,” Fury said.
“En route. Incoming, incoming.”
Fight fans went wild after Fury’s post, with many speculating that the long-awaited Joshua clash might be close to coming to fruition. Joshua hasn’t fought since a knockout defeat to Dubois last year.

Anthony Joshua is the most likely option for Tyson Fury’s comeback fight
Despite his recent losing skid, Fury remains one of boxing’s biggest stars, and could potentially work his way to a third fight against Usyk if he gets on a winning streak. Usyk will face Dubois in a rematch later this year to unify their heavyweight titles.
Joshua remains without a dance partner for his planned return to boxing, after teasing matchups with the likes of Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker. Before the loss to Dubois, Joshua won four-straight, including wins over Ngannou and Robert Helenius.
Fury vs. Joshua might be in the works for later this year, but the details surrounding Fury’s recent ‘business meeting’ remain unclear. But that hasn’t stopped boxing fans from rejoicing at the possibility of the icon’s potential comeback.
