Muhammad Mokaev gives huge update on return to the UFC and world title fight with Alexandre Pantoja

Muhammad Mokaev believes an explosive victory at 971 FC will earn him an opportunity to fight Alexandre Pantoja for the UFC flyweight world title.

On June 14, at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE, the Brit will make his return to the cage against Alisher Gabdullin, on a card, featuring Bellator veterans James Gallagher and Kane Mousah.

Throughout his sparkling time in the amateur and indeed professional game, the gifted mixed martial artist has proven his grappling skills beyond doubt.

But now, with Mokaev scoring a magnificent knockout at Karate Combat 54, the talented athlete is proving he’s just as lethal with his hands.

Muhammad Mokaev believes a win at 971 FC could get him a UFC title fight with Alexandre Pantoja

Next month, Muhammad Mokaev will fly out to the Middle East with the intent of producing an epic display that will earn him a chance to return to the UFC.

With fans around the world desperate to find out who’d come out on top between him and Alexandre Pantoja, ‘The Punisher’ is determined to give them the answers they crave.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, he said: “I believe I just need to put in a striking performance and win by spectacular finish, and people have already started talking about how I need to come back to the UFC. Of course, my dream is to become the best in the world.

“Pantoja is 36 years old, I’m 24, I’m in my peak. Remember, I was beating guys who were in their peak while I was 22. Now, I’m feeling much stronger, much better.

“Whatever has gone on in my career has made me mentally stronger. Now, I’m ready to fight for the belt.”

Muhammad Mokaev wants to make a statement at 971 FC

While Mokaev is excited for the future, he certainly isn’t looking past his opponent at 971 FC.

Having conquered one of Europe’s top promotions, Gabdullin isn’t coming just to make up the numbers.

Mokaev explained: “I have to show my striking. My Plan B — wrestling — is always going to be there. Now, I need to put in the performance people want to see.

“He’s a great opponent. He is an ex-Oktagon champion, 15 wins and four defeats, so he’s an experienced fighter. I’m taking whoever comes in front of me.”
