At UFC Vegas 106 this past Saturday, Julian Erosa and Melquizael Costa opened up the main card with a three-round war.
The UFC returned to the Apex this past weekend for UFC Vegas 106, headlined by a welterweight clash between former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, and soaring contender, Michael Morales.
Morales went on to score an emphatic first-round knockout, handing Burns his fourth loss in a row, leading to calls for the Brazilian to hang up the gloves.
However, it was the main card opener fight between Julian Erosa and Melquizael Costa that had the minimal fans in attendance on their feet, as the two put on a spectacular fight.

Julian Erosa details horrific injuries suffered during UFC Vegas 106 war
The Brazilian went on to take the unanimous decision victory and both fighters were awarded an additional $50,000 for Fight of the Night.
Costa had to overcome a gnarly injury as he split his toe open midway through the fight and Dana White shared images of his brutal injury following the event.
The 28-year-old extended his win streak to four in a row with the win, putting him even closer to a ranked fight at featherweight.
And now, just a few days removed from their Fight of the Night war, Erosa has broken his silence and detailed the horrific injuries he suffered during the fight.
“Definitely woke up feeling like a truck hit me. Hospital said I’ve got a broken orbital and small nose fracture,” Erosa detailed in a post on his Instagram.
“Couldn’t see straight for the later half of the fight, but did my best to keep composure and try and get the job done. Came up short, but had so much fun last night!” Erosa continued.
What’s next for Melquizael Costa following impressive win?
‘Melk Cauthy’ is now on a decent streak and will be looking for another slight step up following his win over ‘Juicy J’.
Now not far away from fighting inside the top 15 of the 145lb division, a fight against Alex Caceres could make perfect sense for the Brazilian prospect next, with Caceres being a veteran of the game.
Failing that, a prospect vs prospect fight against William Gomis could also make for incredible viewing, with Gomis looking to return to the win column after losing his own streak.
