Tom Aspinall gives influencer ‘Angry Ginge’ a rude awakening in hilarious grappling clinic

Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall and UK influencer Angry Ginge on the mats went as you’d expect.

Tom Aspinall remains in pursuit of lineal UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones in pursuit of undisputed gold. But as fight talks hit an uncertain chapter, Aspinall is remaining active in the gym, recently at the expense of one of the UK’s biggest content creators.

Aspinall hasn’t fought since defending the interim heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes last July at UFC 304. After defending the belt, Aspinall returned his attention towards a shot at undisputed gold, against the Jones vs. Stipe Miocic winner.

Jones went on to finish Miocic late to retain the lineal heavyweight championship, in his long-awaited first title defense. Jones then hinted at negotiations with the UFC brass and Aspinall to make the unified heavyweight title fight come to fruition.

Tom Aspinall dares Angry Ginge to punch him as hard as he can from bottom position in hilarious roll

Aspinall invited UK influencer Angry Ginge to the gym to teach him the fundamentals of MMA. Aspinall, one of the top fighters in the UFC, is an excellent source of knowledge on the feet and the ground.

The clinic started with a basic boxing lesson from Aspinall, who has knocked out the likes of Serghei Spivac, Serghei Pavlovich, and Marcin Tybura during his career in the cage. Ginge seemed to be a willing student as Aspinall showed him the basics in stance, technique, and hitting pads.

Once the clinic got to the ground, it was a different story.

Aspinall dared Ginge to try to control him from full-mount, but the influencer failed miserably in his pursuit of a viral moment. Aspinall then started a separate roll from side-mount, and dared Ginge to hit him as hard as he could with ground strikes, while trying to work his way back up to his feet.

Again, Aspinall dominated the exchanges and taught Ginge about the harsh grind of MMA. The grappling session is timestamped in the video below.

Tom Aspinall’s desired clash with Jon Jones received a concerning update

Aspinall’s potential clash with Jones hit a potential brick wall this week, as the lineal heavyweight champion hinted in a recent FaceTime call with a fighter. Jones told a fighter ‘I’m done’ when he was asked about his fighting activity, seemingly hinting at a looming retirement announcement.

UFC CEO Dana White remains ‘relaxed’ in making the Jones vs. Aspinall fight come to fruition. But White hasn’t ruled out stripping Jones of the belt if negotiations don’t progress, which would be a disappointing conclusion to Aspinall’s long wait.

Whether it’s Jones or another top heavyweight contender, Aspinall is expected to fight for the undisputed championship later this year. As for Jones, his legendary run in the Octagon might be coming to an end.
