Jake Paul shuts the door on KSI fight talks after manager’s public negotiations with Misfits Boxing

Jake Paul responded to his manager, Nakisa Bidarian’s public negotiations with Misfits’ Mams Taylor to book a fight with KSI.

Jake Paul is weeks away from his return to the boxing ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He returns to fighting for the first time since his Mike Tyson bout, in which he won by unanimous decision.

Paul eyes big-name challenges at this point in his career. He’s already been called out for an MMA fight with heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, and isn’t ruling out a boxing rematch against Tommy Fury.

But a showdown between Paul and KSI has been teased for years, and negotiations resurfaced on social media between their teams.

Jake Paul reacts to manager’s public negotiations for KSI fight

Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, got into a social media spat with Misfits Boxing head Mams Taylor over a potential clash with KSI. The two sides appeared to negotiate terms publicly, with the agreed-upon weight being the biggest differing point in the fight talks.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul was asked about the status of the KSI fight talks.

“They only want eight rounds…they just keep adding new stuff [to the negotiations] all the time, and I’m focused on much bigger things,” Paul said of a KSI showdown.

“I’m all KSI has, he’s literally nothing without the Paul brothers. Logan brought him Prime, and Prime has kept him relevant, and him being able to fight me is the only thing he has left. At the end of the day, I’m doing much bigger things and don’t need to sit here and be negotiating things on Twitter. If they’re going to make the fight happen, they’re going to do it.

“I don’t [think it’s going to happen]…I’ve been saying this for five, six years, and this is a longer negotiation than Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao…I’m clearly the one who is an active fighter, I’m fighting everybody, so who’s the problem here? They aren’t a serious boxing brand, Misfits has gone to s—. Their brand is a joke…and there’s clearly one side that knows what they’re doing and another side that’s just joking around and it’s a circus.”

As of this writing, KSI hasn’t responded to Paul’s remarks. KSI recently teased a potential retirement from boxing after his scheduled bout with Dillon Danis fell apart.

Nate Diaz replied with an X-rated tweet to Jake Paul vs. Logan Paul talks

A potential Jake vs. Logan Paul matchup resurfaced over the weekend after Logan teased a future MMA fight between the two brothers. Despite nearly breaking the internet earlier this year with a boxing announcement tease, the Pauls eye a matchup in MMA rather than boxing due to their experience difference in the ring.

Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz didn’t take kindly to Logan’s comments about a fight with Jake. He issued an X-rated response to Logan’s comments, after falling to Jake by unanimous decision in their 2023 boxing match.

Paul was also offered a lucrative deal to face Diaz in an MMA fight immediately after their boxing match, but the fight didn’t come to fruition. Diaz is hinting at a potential UFC return after defeating Jorge Masvidal in the ring last year.
