Alex Pereira reportedly heading to Thailand to train with Jon Jones in long awaited meeting

Rumors have begun to circulate that former UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is heading out to Thailand to train with Jon Jones.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has continued to delay a potential title unification fight against Tom Aspinall, as fans continue to label the consensus greatest of all time a ‘duck’.

And with fans continuing to grow in frustration, Jones has been accused of ‘mentally exhausting’ Aspinall by his former opponent, Anthony Smith.

Despite there seemingly being no progress made in the negotiations, UFC boss Dana White has continued to provide positive updates, claiming that Jones will definitely fight this year.

Pereira reportedly joining Jones in Thailand for long awaited meeting

During the heavyweight champion’s time out of action, he is set to bizarrely take on Nate Diaz in a Russian reality TV series.

And with that, ‘Bones’ is currently in Thailand where he is filming different parts of the series, meeting up with the likes of Hasbulla.

Rumors have now begun to circulate that the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, is heading to Thailand to train with Jones and also play a part in the Russian TV series.

‘Poatan’ is currently out of action and recently made headlines when he claimed that his social media account had been hacked after he posted his frustration with the UFC regarding recent negotiations.

Magomed Ankalaev claimed that Pereira was offered an immediate title rematch at UFC 317 but the Brazilian star turned down the offer.

Pereira and Jones met at UFC 306 last September and the two agreed to train with each other despite teasing a potential future fight against each other.

According to Upfront MMA, ‘Poatan’ is scheduled to arrive in Thailand to train with Jones and also appear on ‘Warriors Path’.

Jon Jones questions the UFC’s lack of communication with fans

With Jones’ title unification fight against Aspinall still not booked, it has led to calls for him to be stripped by the UFC, which he isn’t happy with.

This Monday, the heavyweight champion questioned the UFC’s lack of communication with the fans, claiming that he told them his plan a long time ago, questioning why they haven’t shared them with the fans.

With White having recently made a guarantee that Jones will fight this year, an announcement regarding his next fight could be imminent.
