This past Saturday, it was officially announced that one of the best bantamweights in the world, Patchy Mix, has finally signed with the UFC.
Earlier this week, the PFL revealed that former Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix was not extending his contract with them and was heading into free agency.
Reports then began to surface that Mix had signed with the UFC and agreed to step in on short notice to take on Mario Bautista at UFC 316 after Marlon Vera withdrew from the fight.
That was then confirmed by the UFC broadcast this past Saturday at UFC Vegas 106, with Mix being the latest addition to an already stacked 135lb division.

Mix reveals who he wants to win between Dvalishvili and O’Malley
‘No Love’s’ UFC debut is coming quite fittingly on the UFC 316 undercard, which is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley.
Mix has trained with Dvalishvili before and explained that he had a conversation with Merab prior to accepting a late notice UFC debut.
The 31-year-old has also historically claimed that he would destroy ‘Suga’ Sean within the first two rounds if they ever fought, and when O’Malley was the UFC bantamweight champion, a large portion of the MMA fanbase saw Mix as the best bantamweight in the world.
“Me and Merab have trained for years together, and I respect him, I really do hope Merab wins against O’Malley, I’d like down the line for us to make some money together, you know, and just duke it out for that title as I get closer to it,” Mix told the media following UFC Vegas 106.
Mix wants to get revenge for Jose Aldo by beating Mario Bautista
And with a title shot seemingly not far away for Mix, he has claimed that he wants to get revenge for Jose Aldo with a win over Bautista at UFC 316.
Bautista scored a highly controversial win over the UFC legend at UFC 307 and was highly criticized for holding Aldo against the cage for the majority of the fight.
“I’m going to get justice for Aldo. We’re gonna be banging it out and we’re gonna be engaging, he won’t hold me up against the fence,” Mix claimed.
The 31-year-old will likely need another win if he beats Bautista as he will still be ranked outside of the top five of the 135lb division.
