During this time, the creative striker has sparred Samat Abdyrakhmanov, who’s been making waves in the bare-knuckle scene.
A video of the pair playfully sparring, shared by Full Send MMA, shows the Kyrgyzstan fighter knocking Jones’ microphone off his shirt.
The warriors, not trying to hurt one another, exchange shots, with the New Yorker showcasing his defensive skills as Abdyrakhmanov attempts to land upstairs and downstairs.
Fans were quick to take to social media, with many praising Jones.
One said: “Jon was schooling him,” while another added: “Jones still looks quick.”
However, others couldn’t help but vent their frustrations, with an angry MMA enthusiast writing: “Anyone but Tom Aspinall.” A second fan raged: “Wouldn’t get near Tom.”
