PFL co-founder Donn Davis’s message for Patchy Mix ahead of UFC 316 wasn’t well-received.
The UFC bantamweight division just got even more stacked with the addition of former Bellator titleholder Patchy Mix. After parting ways with the PFL earlier this year following months of tension, Mix will make his UFC debut on short notice on the upcoming UFC 316 card in Newark.
Mix will face Sean O’Malley‘s teammate, Top 15 contender Mario Bautista, on the UFC 316 main card. A win could potentially move him into the crowded bantamweight title picture.
Mix was the latest in a slew of PFL fighters to make the move to the UFC Octagon following strained relations with the promotional brass. But despite Mix’s messy exit, that didn’t stop one of the PFL leaders from wishing him well ahead of UFC 316.

Donn Davis’s message for Patchy Mix didn’t sit well with PFL fans
In a recent post on X, PFL co-founder Donn Davis shared a message for Mix and Kayla Harrison ahead of UFC 316.
“I always say there are numerous GREAT MMA fighters OUTSIDE [UFC],” Davis posted Sunday.
“Good luck to former [PFL] stars [Kayla Harrison and Patchy Mix] June 7th.”
Despite Davis’s classy message, fans weren’t hearing it from the PFL headman after Mix’s departure.
“You’re letting them all walk back to the UFC. Insane work,” one fan replied.
“This isn’t the flex you think it is,” another said.
“Dakota gonna be on a UFC card in a year or 2.”
“And they want nothing to do with you.”
“You guys screwed over Patchy Mix get outta here.”
“Donn I know you don’t usually watch MMA but this is actually a UFC card.”
“They left because you can’t give them any rights.”
“You might be the dumbest man in combat sports.”
“Thank you for letting him go your organization is straight dog s—.”
“Respect for letting him go. Why did PFL buy Bellator tho? The org could have just let it collapse and made deals with select fighters. I’m guessing it was a Turki idea idealizing it as if it were strikeforce. Genuine question tho…it doesn’t feel like it made any financial sense.”
Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire, Aaron Pico, and Mix are a few top names who have departed the PFL in recent months for the massive UFC spotlight. Pico is expected to make his UFC debut later this year, while Pitbull lost to Yair Rodriguez at UFC 314 last month.

Patchy Mix details talk with Merab Dvalishvili before announced UFC 316 debut
As Mix prepares for his UFC debut, a potential clash with UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili looms large. According to Mix, the UFC titleholder welcomes his addition to the title picture.
Mix and Dvalishvili shared a brief conversation while training together amidst his PFL contract dispute, and the two bantamweights could potentially be on a collision course. Dvalishvili will defend the bantamweight title against O’Malley in the UFC 316 headliner.
An impressive finish by Mix could potentially catapult him into making a strong case for a title shot. As Dvalishvili has taken out most of the top bantamweights at least once, Mix is one of the few who is aiming for a first-time crack at the champion.
