Paddy Pimblett choke victim scores sensational comeback KO win to silence haters at OKTAGON 71

Denis Frimpong rebounded from his viral gym fight with Paddy Pimblett on Saturday night.

Earlier this year, ‘The Baddy’ made headlines when footage of him participating in a gym fight went viral.

Paddy Pimblett and 6-2 MMA prospect Denis Frimpong beefed online before settling their feud the old-fashioned way.

The UFC lightweight contender locked up his signature rear-naked choke before almost causing a riot when he refused to let go of the submission, despite the fact Frimpong was frantically tapping out.

Denis Frimpong silences his haters with big KO win

After clashing with Pimblett, Frimpong was thrust into the spotlight for the first time.

The 30-year-old recently told talkSPORT that the viral gym fight got him way more haters than fans.

However, he went some way to silencing his detractors with a sensational win at OKTAGON 71.

Frimpong overcame adversity to stop 7-1-1 fighter Arijan Topallaj with strikes in the third and final round of their scrap at BMW Park in Munich, Germany.

What’s next for Paddy Pimblett?

Pimblett’s viral scrap with Frimpong was just a warmup for the biggest fight of his MMA career.

In April, the Englishman brutalized Michael Chandler en route to a third-round stoppage win at UFC 314.

Now Pimblett is targeting a title eliminator fight with former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.

“I know for a fact that if I beat (Justin) Gaethje, I’m next in line,” he told UFC on TNT Sports.

“It could be (next for me), yeah. It’s just whether he says yes or not, isn’t it? He’d be fighting down the rankings again.

“(I’d like to fight him) in Abu Dhabi in October, that Pay-per-view, that’s when I want to fight, that’s when I’ll be gearing towards, and after what I did to Chandler, I think I’d finish Justin Gaethje.”
